There is a reason…for Reason.

Although I am now using version 14 as of recent, I found that this series of videos still very relevant for all levels. There were some long forgotten tricks I learned along the way that were an eye opener in a couple instances.

Long story short, this DVD found its self on the top shelf of my digital library. Right there beside Masterclass sets from David Wills. At the price, it makes sense.

Very easy integration with several top name DAW titles. A massive library of more downloadable tracks than I realized were out there. Check it out!

Reason 9 Tutorial

A ton of info to go through here. I will never use everything Reason can do, but to be able to quickly set things up and record before the inspiration is gone is key. David walks you through what you need to know and helps take the frustration away, so you can relax and just play. That's what it's all about. Thanks David!

A Good Reason to Get Reason!

Recently I decided to get into audio software (DAW) to mix the modest recordings which I make with my band on a Zoom R24. I have dabbled with DAWs in the past so I know they can be complicated. In the end I settled on Reason because it has a reputation for being accessible, AND I discovered that David Wills had made a tutorial video on Reason. I had previously used David's training video on the Zoom R24 when I first bought it. His teaching was really clear and got me up and running with the R24 in no time.
So, as soon as I bought Reason I also bought David's Reason tutorial - and I'm glad I did.
I followed his tutorial with Reason open on my computer and very quickly I was able to begin doing what I wanted to do and start mixing my tracks.
There are some additional benefits: I have learned a bit about synths (not something a guitar playing country/rock old guy would normally do - but great fun!). Also when you watch one of David's videos you don't just get instruction on the specific software or hardware you also get a feel for the whole business of recording: e.g. not just how to EQ a track but why (and why not). Same with quantisation. Important point worth noting - I am using Reason 11 and the tutorial video covers everything, even though it is based on Reason 9.
I have no association with ProAudioExp - I don't work for them, nor do I know them personally. My only connection is that I have used their training materials - and like them a lot!

ProAudio Master Classes

I have now acquired and watched all of ProAudio's Master Class courses, along with a class on the Tascam DP-24 and Ultimate Home Recording School courses. All are extremely informative, enjoyable, and easy to understand. In short, I have learned a lot in the art of audio recording via David Wills' excellent guidance. I am now making the transition from TASCAM Portastudio to full DAW and consequently have ordered a copy of David's course on Reason 9 which I feel will greatly speed my learning of the Reason 11 software.

I am a huge fan of the ProAudio courses and highly recommend these course to others.
